MODULE 1: Custodial Operations
This module equips attendees with an all-encompassing view of custodial operations. It starts by discussing key strategies for building a high-performing custodial team, including recruitment and onboarding. From there, it delves into the nuts and bolts of custodial staffing, offering actionable tools to assess and optimize staff levels. The module also touches on the effective supervision and evaluation of custodial staff, outlining best practices and due process. Lastly, attendees will gain insights into selecting the most effective and efficient cleaning products and equipment for their schools.
MODULE 2: Building Systems
Focused on the backbone of a school’s physical structure, this module covers topics ranging from energy accounting and comparisons to HVAC systems. You’ll also explore the 20 key areas of safety concern for schools and methods to prevent employee injuries. It offers actionable insights based on real-world examples to set up or refine a successful safety program in your district.
MODULE 4: Maintenance & operations
Covering all things related to the physical upkeep of schools, this module goes deep into exterior building envelope maintenance, roof management, and effective preventative maintenance programs. You’ll also explore the world of building automation systems, including HVAC, security, and lighting controls, and the pros and cons of system integration.
MODULE 5: Facility life cycle & budgeting
Focused on the long-term perspective, this module covers everything from managing sports fields to capital planning and budgeting. Learn how to maintain different types of sports surfaces and how to draft and adhere to a facilities budget. Discussions also touch upon how to develop and communicate capital plans, as well as insights into the realities of handling referendum projects.
Module 6: LEadership
